Windows 11 Comes To Intel 11th Gen Core Systems – PC Perspective

With Windows 10 out, more systems can blast Windows 11.

If you've ever tried to update a Rocket Lake system to Windows 11, you know it's not a good idea. The Intel Smart Sound Technology tech found on many 11th Gen Core processors was incompatible with the version that came with Windows 11 21H2. Incompatibility causes a BSoD and usually leads to tears all around. Microsoft is finally getting around to fixing the incompatibility and is pushing version 10.30.00.5714 or 10.29.00.5714 via Windows Update..

Your system will choose and install the correct version, and once installed, upgrades to Windows 11 will no longer be blocked. Windows 10 is headed the way of the dodo on October 14, 2025, so you can hold off for a while if you want. If you choose to update, be aware that you'll go straight to Windows 11 23H2, as previous versions have been deprecated.

Still no luck for the first-generation Threadrappers.
