The waiting hours are almost over. Prime Video's TV takes on Fallout.with the live-action drama based on Bethesda's popular video game series hitting the streaming service worldwide.

Hosted by Westworld's Jonathan Nolan (brother of recent Oscar winner Christopher) and his wife Lisa Joy, the show is set 200 years after a nuclear apocalypse wipes out much of civilization, leaving the rich. Men who were able to get into the bunkers have been left out. – but not only – survivors.

Among the survivors is Lucy (Yellowjackets star Ella Purnell), a hopeful “vault dweller” who leaves the safe confines of her asylum and goes to the surface to rescue her father (Twin Peaks legend Kyle McLachlan). A dangerous wasteland devastated by a nuclear disaster awaits Lucy, with factions clashing and mutants on the prowl as she tries to navigate the aftermath of nuclear chaos.

Filling the gap nicely while we wait for season 2 of another post-apocalyptic game adaptation, The Last of Us, Amazon will be hoping they have a similar hit on their hands — but what? The show premieres on Prime Video. Wednesday, April 10, 9 pm ET/6 pm PT in the US and Canada, 2am BST in the UK, and 12pm AEDT in Australia, all eight episodes will be available to watch on demand at that time.
