UniUni raised $50M Series C round led by DCM

Uni UniA leading Canada-based tech company, has closed a US$50 million Series C funding round led by global venture capital firm DCM. This latest round marks UniUni's largest funding success to date, following a successful US$20 million Series B2 round led by Celtic House Venture Partners in December 2023.

Specializing in last-mile e-commerce logistics in North America, UniUni has secured over US$70 million in funding in the past four months. The company's disruptive approach to the B2C last-mile delivery model, coupled with its logistics platform optimized for e-commerce, has driven its rapid growth. UniUni ranked fourth on The Globe and Mail's 2023 list of Canada's top growing companies, boasting an impressive three-year growth rate of 12,854 per cent.

UniUni CEO Peter Lowe expressed enthusiasm for the funding, highlighting the company's plans to further develop its proprietary tech stack that powers its logistics platform. Additionally, the funding will support the expansion of UniUni's network of sorting centers to increase delivery coverage across the US.

DCM's General Partner, Ramon Zeng, praised UniUni's innovative approach to last-mile delivery, stressing the importance of supporting solutions that improve industry operations. With UniUni emerging as a leader in last-mile delivery, leveraging technology for reliability and cost-effectiveness, DCM is excited to contribute to the company's expansion across the US and North America.

Founded in 2019, UniUni has established itself as a key player in e-commerce logistics, delivering tens of millions of parcels offshore in Canada alone. With more than 50 high-capacity sorting centers across North America, including major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Miami and Chicago, UniUni is well positioned to meet the growing demand for efficient last-mile delivery services.

According to Peter Lowe, the North American logistics market offers vast opportunities for innovation. With traditional logistics firms struggling to adapt to the demands of the digital age, UniUni aims to address these challenges by leveraging its advanced infrastructure and technology.

The rapid growth of e-commerce further highlights the need for innovative logistics solutions. Total e-commerce sales in the US are expected to reach US$1.1 trillion in 2023, a significant increase over the previous year. As e-commerce continues to dominate retail, UniUni is poised to play a key role in shaping the future of last-mile delivery and meeting the evolving needs of online retailers and brands.
