Turtle Beach Stealth Pro Wireless design and construction
Stealth Pro has a profile that I was happy to show. It sports a sleek refined aesthetic that matches a premium pair of headphones.
The design features a metal reinforced headband and frame, which protected it during my heavy use. I found that the shiny metal was just what I needed on my daily commute – it survived the rough and tumble of my bag.
The headset also has good movement. The cups rotate 180 degrees and the headband slides down to fit your ears. Although there's less tilt than some cans, the Stealth Pro Wireless still has enough to relieve any tightness in your head and neck.
The memory foam ear cushions are of medium thickness. They kept pain at bay well over several hours of gaming sessions. Being a soft leather type, the earcup cover was also extremely comfortable. Although, they sweated a bit when I was hot.

Turtle Beach Stealth Pro Controls
Controls span both the left and right earcups, but the majority can be found on the inside of the right earcup.
I was generally pleased with the functionality at my fingertips, including not only volume adjustment and power on/off, but also the ability to control Bluetooth, ANC, and Superhuman Hearing (more on that later). .

Controls are flat buttons on the left and right earcups.

The volume button is located outside the left earcup and is surrounded by a large mixer wheel. You can add additional functions to this button in the headset's AudioHub companion app, including a game chat mixer if you're using the headset with an Xbox, or multimedia controls if you're using it with a PC.
The latter proved to be very useful for bouncing around my movie library.
Turtle Beach Stealth Pro wireless connectivity
The Stealth Pro can easily become a gaming headset on all your devices. My review unit was built primarily for the Xbox console, but it also worked with my PC, PlayStation 5, Mac, Nintendo Switch, and my cell phone.
A PlayStation variant lacks Xbox compatibility but connects to all the other devices I mentioned above and PlayStation consoles.
The Stealth Pro also comes with a circular wireless transmitter unit. A USB-C to USB-A cord makes it easy to connect to your device of choice. Unfortunately, there is no option for direct analog wired connectivity.
This meant I couldn't use the headset with my guitar amp, which is a bit disappointing considering the headset's current $330 price tag. Still, I can do a lot more with the dual wireless connectivity that consists of 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1.
I found the Bluetooth to be especially handy for using the headset with my cell phone on the bus. Bluetooth also has a simultaneous mode that allowed me to stream my phone calls while gaming. Although, it should be said, the headset only supports the default SBC audio codec, so users hoping for AAC support will have to do without.
Turtle Beach Pro Wireless Gaming Performance
The Stealth Pro's 50mm neodymium drivers produce a bold sound with low, punchy bass and a bold treble. This makes it ideal for fast action games like FPS shooters, where explosions, loud noises and footsteps are really brought to the fore — think games like Hello, Counter Strike 2And Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
That profile syncs well with the headset's Super Human Hearing technology, which you can activate on the right earcup. Once pressed, this feature emphasized sounds like footsteps and close player movements in my games, but it slightly masked other sounds.
Mid-range tones were a bit flat at times, which meant the headset sounded less neutral than it would have liked. Audis Maxwell Wireless headset but it didn't affect my overall enjoyment of the audio.
The clamp pressure was moderate, but I found it created an effective passive noise isolation barrier, so I could play for long periods with ANC turned off and still be free of most ambient noise. I enjoy a free voice.
Considering that the headset's soundstage isn't as big as with some headsets, it also meant that the audio didn't lose its impact for me.
Having no native audio for a headset of this caliber seems like a missed opportunity. Sure, I could go out and find my own, but for a premium headset for FPS games, it really should have shipped with the option.
The headset's battery life is not good at just 12 hours of continuous playtime. This is very short compared to the up to 70 hours you get from your choice. Razer BlackShark V2.
But some smart access from Turtle Beach saves the day, letting you manage your charging. You get an extra replaceable battery that you can charge in the transmitter while gaming, so there's no reason you should be without power.
I found the headset mic carried my voice clearly. But even more impressive was the versatility the mic setup provided. It's detachable so I can use it like a premium set of headphones without anyone knowing I'm wearing a gaming headset.
Turtle Beach Pro Wireless Software
Turtle Beach Audio Hub is a companion app to Stealth Pro for Windows, Android and iOS and can be downloaded from the Turtle Beach website. The app has a number of useful features that allow you to customize, control and improve the sound of your headset to get the most out of your gaming experience.
For example, you can create and save audio presets for your various games or media using the app's 10-band EQ chart, or the headset's bass to emphasize a particular feature in your game sound. Can apply boost settings to treble or vocals.
One of my go-to settings was the Superhuman Hearing slider, which lets me adjust Superhuman Hearing to a setting less than 100 percent of its maximum. When superhuman hearing was turned on, it allowed me to better modulate different frequencies.
I love that the headset mic is detachable so I can use it like a premium set of headphones without anyone knowing I'm wearing a gaming headset.

The AudioHub app for Stealth Pro allows you to adjust for superhuman hearing.
