Truecaller launches a web client for its Android users | TechCrunch

Truecaller has launched a web version of its eponymous caller ID application that brings a host of features to the desktop, including SMS and chat mirroring, call notifications and number lookup functionality. Initially, the web version, called Truecaller for Web, will only be made available to Android users in India, but it plans to introduce support in other regions in the future, the company said.

The company said there are 80 million people who receive SMS pop-up summary notifications every day. It just means that these users have not denied permission to Truecaller to read SMS. But it is not clear whether these people are using Truecaller as their primary SMS client.

Over the past few months, Truecaller has focused on introducing more AI-powered features. Last month, it launched.
