Looks like we're officially in. Snapdragon “X Elite” CPU The official launch timeline, where it is expected that laptops around the CPU lineup will ship out soon.
First, there were CPUs from Qualcomm. Limited to reference models that were primarily for testing and consumer demonstration.. However, an X user, Walking cat (@_h0x0d_)has shown us the first official look at Lenovo laptops that use Snapdragon X Elite CPUs.
It is reported that the Snapdragon X Elite CPU will debut in Lenovo's Yoga Slim 7 14 and ThinkPad T14S “Snapdragon Edition” in 2024, two high-end laptops that specifically boost productivity through their onboard features. are designed to expand, not to mention a “flexible” design. .
Unfortunately, WalkingCat doesn't have any specifics for us other than the name of the laptop. So, we can't confirm what kind of CPU will be on board, but based on a List of recent Geekbench, which was performed on a Lenovo motherboard, featured the Snapdragon X Elite-X1E78100. This CPU features 12 core count with a maximum frequency of 3.42 GHz. So maybe such developments are related, but we can't be sure before the official details.

Qualcomm has kept its X Elite SKUs and related specifications under the blanket. While we have seen levels of benchmarks, which give us an idea of performance, we are still unaware of what naming scheme the company will adopt here, which keeps the curiosity factor alive. Several models of the lineup have been leaked in X Elite and X Plus variants.
Also, the Snapdragon X Elite CPUs are sure to take the laptop segment to a whole new level, especially in terms of AI performance, when it comes to their onboard NPUs. Qualcomm is way ahead, much faster than the mainstream companies though Intel. And AMD is going to introduce very fast AI PC solutions in the second half of this year so the competition is going to heat up in the AI PC space.
According to The official Qualcomm (Weibo) feedit looks like the first laptop is expected to debut at the Lenovo Tech World '24 keynote on April 20.
