Homeworld 3 Delayed, For Only Good Reasons – PC Perspective

Blackbird Interactive Demo is taking customer feedback seriously.

Homeworld 3 is now slated to launch on May 13., almost two months after it was first launched but in this case players can't be bothered too much for that reason. One of the biggest complaints is that those who played the demo focused on the controls, and given that this is the biggest part of the game, it became clear that something needed to be done. The biggest changes are the ability to remap any and all keybinds, which should have always been there, and increased camera movement and rotation speed to make the game smoother. If you're familiar with Homeworld 2 Remastered's controls and feedback, the legacy control system will now match that look so you can easily switch back to the familiar.

The combat system has also been reworked a bit and Homeworld 3 now supports giving fire commands to your ships that don't follow flight direction, which you couldn't do in the demo. They also increased the effectiveness of formations to encourage their use and increased the health of ships by 30% so you can see what's going on.

If you're looking for more details, there's a long list of changes to Rock, Paper, Shotgun, as well as a link to the dev notes.
