Finland's 'Windows95man' is taking Eurovision by storm
When the Eurovision finals begin on Saturday, software geeks will have something to look forward to: a Finnish boy named “Windows95man” decked out in Microsoft gear, singing a song titled “No Rules.” .
If you're a typical American, Eurovision sounds like a fever dream. It's a group of largely European countries that send singers and artists to take part in the weird, artistic performances of the Euro World Cup. Will Ferrell's Netflix hit Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of the Fire Saga Nailed the vibe, and Windows95man's No Rules feels very much in its spirit — the guy hatches from a giant egg, for crying out loud.
As Eurovision is only Europe, there is always a bit of regionalism. Americans can't watch the final without a VPN. (our List of the best VPNs Have you covered there!) But you can see all the performances that got them there, and from what I can see it doesn't really matter where Windows95man is concerned.
I like weird music. It is strange. But very, very fun. Give it a listen — and if you want even more, here's a list of all 37. Eurovision Final Songsfrom Albania to Britain.
