Everything we know about 'House of the Dragon' Season 2

gave The season 1 finale of Home of the Dragon ended with a. Devastating, dragon-toothed crunch That shook the realm and started the Targaryen Civil War known as the Dance of the Dragons. But with that epic cliffhanger comes the awful realization that we'll have to wait for Season 2 to find out what happens next.

This period may be full of darkness and terror, but thankfully it is almost over. Home of the Dragon will return to us on June 16, when we'll finally see Queen Rhaenyra (Emma d'Arcy) and her half-brother King Aegon II (Tom Glenn-Carney) prepare in earnest for the Iron Throne.

Home of the Dragon Season 2 airs June 16, premiering on HBO and Max at 9 pm ET. This season will consist of eight episodes instead of the first season's 10.

Meanwhile, Rhaenyra's eldest son Jacqueris (Harry Collette) hopes to add to those numbers with a visit to the houses of the North — including the Starks!

The second of the dueling trailers supports Team Green, led by the aliens as they try to put Aegon on the Iron Throne. In Season 1, Alliant gave false news. Viserys' dying words And he thinks he changed his mind about Rhaenyra being the heir. Now, he and his allies — including his father Otto Hightower (Rhys Afans) and night-serre Kirsten Cole (Fabian Frankel) — will do whatever they can to keep what Aegon can do. Admits Viserys' dying wish to establish himself as king. Saddened Aegon is all set to go to war, as is his. Drama King Bhai Amand (Evan Mitchell), who relishes the challenge of facing Damon.

Who are the new cast members and characters? Home of the Dragon Season 2?

As Home of the Dragon As Season 2 explores more of Westeros, you can expect to see a lot of new faces. Among them is Cregan Stark (Tom Taylor, The Dark Tower), Lord of Winterfell; Gwen Hightower (Freddie Fox, Ministry of Uncivil War) brother of Elant; and Alan of Hull (Abu Bakr Salim, Raised by wolves), a sailor in Valarion's impressive fleet.

Two other new characters hint at important events at the castle of Herrnhil, currently the seat of House Strong. Simon Russell Bell (Death of Stalin) will play Ser Simon Strong, castellan of Herrenhal. He is also a very good uncle. Laureus strong (Matthew Needham), who you may remember as being a snake around. Joining Bell at Herrenhall is Gail Rankin (shine) as Alice Rivers, a healer who lives in Herrenhall, and who is powerful in more ways than one.

If you need to know what happens after Rhaenyra dons her warface at the end of Season 1, you've come to the right place. Home of the Dragon It has remained largely faithful to its source material So far, so I'm pretty sure it will follow the book even after the death of Lucrezia (Elliot Gerhalt). I am going Full spoilers Here, so if you don't want to know the future of Dance of the Dragons, turn away now.

Rhaenyra and Damon will retaliate in a massive way against Elaine and her family. The team will try to bolster their forces by finding the riderless dragon riders like Black Wormether and Seismok. Meanwhile, Daemon will attack Herrenhall on Dragonback and win it without bloodshed, dealing a major blow to the Greens. I fire and blood, The attack takes place while Jacaerys (Harry Collett) and Lucerys are on their mission. Now, with the tragedy of Luke's death fueling Daemon, there's a strong possibility that the show's version of the attack on Herrenhal will be on the more violent side.

And the violence will only continue! Because Daemon's next move in the book is one of the most terrifying events in Westerosi history. (If you're in doubt about spoilers, now Definitely Return time. They attack the Red Cap and force Queen Helena (Fia Saban) to decide which of her sons they will kill. They then proceed to kill the son, whose name she does not reveal. Demonizing the attack. Fire and bloodbut given the anger in Rhynera's eyes at the end of the finale, is there any chance he'll be involved?

As the chaos moves south, Jace will head north to Erie and beyond to Winterfell. On his journey north, he would secure allies from houses like Arians and Manderlis. He will also befriend Lord Cragan Stark and win him over to Rhaenyra's cause. So you can expect a mixed bag right from the start. Home of the Dragon Season 2. On the one hand, we get the Starks back. On the other hand, we get more traumatic infanticide.

Brace yourselves, fellow viewers: We may have a long wait, but the upcoming dance is going to be one heck of a ride.
