EK, the leading provider of computer cooling solutions, is launching a special edition direct die water block specifically designed for AMD AM5 socket and Dellded Ryzen 7000 CPUs, including X3D variants. The product features a custom engineered cooling engine that is only suitable for AM5 direct die cooling. The contact surface of the cold plate is designed with protruding parts that perfectly match the CPU's chips and its I/O die.

The die guard that comes with the CPU requires removal of the CPU loading mechanism. This ensures that the PCB does not bend and makes electrical connections with the socket pins. The latest waterblock is EK-Matrix7 compatible, meaning product height and port spacing are regulated in 7mm increments. The EK-Quantum Vector² RX 7900 XTX Radeon Edition sports a new CPU waterblock design, with a black anodized aluminum frame surrounding a see-through acrylic top.

EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB – AMD Ryzen Edition
This new direct-die AM5 water block is built on an award-winning, market-recognized Velocity² platform that has won iF Design, European Hardware, and CES Innovation Awards. The top is acrylic like see-through glass, with rich D-RGB illumination shining through the window. The body of this water block is sandblasted aluminum anodized in black.

The vertical terminal of the Black Estel blends perfectly with the appearance of the water block, giving it a sharp look.

The mounting mechanism differs from that of the Velocity² Direct Die 1700 water block, as it relies on standing at all corners rather than a cold plate contacting the die guard. The protruding parts of the cold plate were designed to cover the CPU chips.

The fin structure has been adjusted to direct most of the flow over the chiplet and some over the main I/O die.

This flow optimization was done with a special jet plate and its offset slip that forces the coolant to flow over the hottest parts of the microfins just above the chiplet. The entire fin array was offset to avoid CPU components generating very little heat.

Everything mentioned earlier for the AMD Ryzen Edition also applies to the Ryzen Signature Edition CPU water block, the only difference being the thermal grizzly tools and accessories that are included with the Signature Edition.

Thermal Grizzly TG Shield
The TG shield compound protects SMDs (Surface-Mounted Devices) from possible liquid metal leakage around the chips. Therefore, even if the liquid metal is applied excessively on these components and spreads, it will not cause a short circuit and damage the CPU. The TG shield should be applied generously to ensure that you do not remove it immediately when you use alcohol to clean the chiplet or liquid metal.

The EK-Matrix7 system adds convenience and precision to PC liquid cooling, thanks to product height and port spacing being regulated in 7mm increments. D-RGB compatibility
EK-Quantum Velocity² D-RGB Direct Die – AMD Ryzen Edition CPU waterblocks are compatible with popular detectable RGB sync technologies from all major motherboard manufacturers. The arrow marked on the 3-pin D-RGB LED connector is aligned with the +5V marking on the visible RGB header.

Availability and pricing
EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die – AMD Ryzen Edition water blocks are manufactured in Slovenia, Europe, and are available for pre-order through the EK Webshop and partner reseller network.
