ASUS ROG Ally X To Be Priced At $799, Will Be Powered By Ryzen Z1 Extreme

ASUS has yet to release full specifications for the ROG Ally console, dubbed the ROG Ally X. While it is reported to be an improved iteration of the 2023 model, featuring the same processor and screen, it will introduce new core specifications.

Ally X will debut exclusively with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme. There are no plans for a Z1 non-Extreme APU model. This suggests that those hoping to buy the new Ally for less than $300-400 will need to look for a 2023 model, as it's unlikely the X will hit that price point anytime soon. . Additionally, the X variant will offer a full 1TB SSD, while the current version defaults to 512GB.

As revealed by ASUS, the ROG Ally X will feature a larger battery and increased memory capacity. While ASUS hasn't provided exact specifications, the battery is expected to be at least 40% larger, with memory options ranging from 24GB to 32GB. The memory upgrade alone could contribute to the price increase, and memory speeds for the ROG Ally X are unknown.

ASUS ROG Ally X Handheld Teaser

According to tipster MysteryLupin, the upgraded handheld is rumored to cost $799, a $100 increase from the current version. With the screen and APU unchanged, this represents a relatively large increase over the original $699 price of the “2023” model. Additionally, considering that the older model often sells for less than $600 at retailers, the introduction of the new model is likely to further reduce its price.

ASUS has Confirmed The ROG Ally X will be officially unveiled at Computex on June 2.
