AOKZOE Confirms A2 Ultra Handheld To Be Powered By Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU

AOKZOE has introduced its latest gaming handheld, dubbed the A2 Ultra. Instead of AMD Ryzen APUs, the device has an Intel Core Ultra processor based on the Meteor Lake architecture. This marks the second major release of an Intel CPU-powered handheld, following the MSI Claw.

Both the handhelds will be powered by the same processor variant, identified as the Core Ultra 7 155H (with the Claw also offering the Ultra 5 135H). This particular model features a 16-core setup, including 6 performance cores, 8 efficiency cores, and 2 low-power cores, with a CPU boost capability of up to 4.8 GHz. Additionally, this processor integrates Intel Arc graphics, featuring 8 Xe-Cores clocked at up to 2.25 GHz. Although this configuration is the highest in the Core Ultra 100 lineup, it is lower in frequency than the '165H' or '185H' models.

Additionally, it has been officially announced that the handheld will feature a 7-inch 1920×1200 screen, which appears to be similar to the A2 Non-Ultra device powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U. The Core Ultra 7 155H will be paired with LPDDR5X-7467 memory, which will be available in 32GB and 64GB variants. This represents a significant improvement over other popular handhelds (such as the Claw), which are all locked in at 16GB of capacity. Whether or not gamers actually need more is a different debate.

Additionally, the A2 Ultra will include support for PCIe Gen4 SSDs in the 2280 form factor. It is reported to have a single fan for heat dissipation. Under the casing, there is a 12600 mAh battery, which promises at least 3 hours of continuous gaming sessions (although the power consumption is not specified). Like the Claw, the A2 Ultra is compatible with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, features not found in AMD-based handhelds.

It has been confirmed that the A2 Ultra will run on Windows 11, as teased by the company in pre-launch presentations. However, pricing and availability dates are yet to be confirmed.
