AMD Strix Point “Zen 5” APU Tested Again, 12-Core & 2.3 GHz ES Ryzen Chip Now Ahead of Fastest Phoenix & Hawk Point APUs
of AMD Strix Point “Raiseon” APU Up to 12 next-gen Zen 5 cores have been tested again and offer faster performance than Phoenix & Hawk Point.
AMD Strix Point “Zen 5” APUs now ahead of Phoenix and Hawk Point “Zen 4” APUs in benchmark leak
yesterday, We've reported the first Geekbench benchmarks of the alleged AMD Strix Point “Ryzen” APU featuring up to 12 Zen 5 cores.. The chip appears to have been tested again, this time running at a clock speed of 2.30 GHz, about 1 GHz faster than the previous ES variant. The APU has the same OPN ID of “100-000000994-14_N” and is identified as “AuthenticAMD Family 26 Model 32 Stepping 0”.
It seems that Geekbench is still having trouble reading the exact specifications of this chip as it mentions the correct L1d, L1i and L2 cache but the L3 cache is only reported at 8 MB which is the same as the Zen 5C on this chip. Should be correct for the cover but there it is. There are also Zen 5 cores that equate to 16 MB of cache, for a total of 24 MB. Other features of the AMD Strix Point “Ryzen” APU include 12 cores and 24 threads. The clock speed is rated at 5.11 GHz base frequency but actual clocks are fixed around 2.3-2.4 GHz.
As far as performance is concerned, while the single-core score is up slightly from the previous results to 1224 points, the multi-threaded score has a big advantage. The geek bench reports a multithreaded score of 12,754 points, a 59% performance increase over the previous score with a clock speed bump of 66%. So it looks like we can expect some big gains as the AMD Strix Point APU not only offers more cores (12 vs 8 or 50% more) but also a completely new architecture. This should be great for mobility platforms.

As you can see from the chart above, the new score puts the AMD Strix Point “Ryzen” APU ahead of the fastest Phoenix (Ryzen 9 7940HS) and Hawk Point (Ryzen 9 8945HS) APUs. This is a good result for the Zen 5 core architecture and if it proves correct, we are going to see huge leaps in multi-threaded performance with the next generation Ryzen 9000 Mobility lineup.
Here is the full summary of today's leak:
- AMD Strix Point (1) ES APU
- FP8 platform / 28W design
