It's a good thing that iGPU performance has grown so much over the past two generations, considering the simultaneous rise in prices of discrete GPUs. The days of the $500 computer would be completely over if not for what Intel and AMD have done to make it possible to play games on one of their integrated GPUs. Performance won't match RTX or Radeon, but it's a lifesaver if you're on a tight budget! FPS Review tested the Ryzen 8700G and 8600G against the elder Ryzen 5700G.

You won't see all the glory of Cyberpunk 2077, but hitting around 60fps at 1080p with medium settings and FSR enabled is impressive. If you love racing, F1 2022 set to 64fps average ultra quality will bring a smile to your face. Sadly, Starfield and some other modern titles are out of reach but you need to keep your expectations reasonable. If you're looking at a new budget system and hope to play games on it, going with the Ryzen 8700G will give you a more flexible system and closer performance than getting a console.
